Holbox is an island located northeast of the Yucatán peninsula. As it is an island, you have to go to Chiquilá, the town where ferries depart to Holbox.
From Cancún, by car:
From Cancún, take the road “Libre” to Merida and pass through a town called Leona Vicario. After 15 km, you’ll get to a cross called “Nuevo Valladolid”, where you have to turn right. You will pass two small villages, until you get to a T turn. Turn right, to Kantunilkin. From Kantunilkin, you have to continue another 40 km towards Chiquilá. Once there, find a parking lot for your car and walk to the port to take the ferry. When you get to the island, you can either walk or take a taxi to your hotel.
From Cancún, by bus:
From Cancún’s “terminal centro”, you have to take a bus to Chiquilá. Ask at Mayab’s post There are buses at 7:45 am, 10:30 am and 12:45 pm. But we recommend you confirm these times in advance. Once in Chiquilá, aproximately three and a half hours later, you have to take the ferry that will take you to Holbox. When you get to the island, you can either walk or take a taxi to your hotel.
From Cancún, by transfer:
The easiest option: we pick you up wherever you are (airport or hotel), we take you to the ferry (2-hour ride) and we will be waiting on Holbox island to take you to your hotel. Door to door service .

From Mérida, by car:
The journey from Merida to Chiquilá takes three and a half hours. You have to take road 180 towards Cancun “Periférico”. Take the deviation to Tizimín, towards a town called Colonia. Continue to Kantunilkin. From Kantunilkin, you should continue 40 km towards Chiquilá. Once there, find a parking lot for your car and walk to the port to take the ferry. When you get to the island, you can either walk or take a taxi to your hotel.
From Mérida or Valladolid, by bus:
The bus leaves Merida at 11:30 pm and takes 6 hours to get to Chiquilá. This same bus passes through Valladolid at 2:30 am. The bus gets to Chiquilá in time to take the 6 am ferry. Once in Chiquilá, you have to take the ferry that will take you to Holbox. When you get to the island, you can either walk or take a taxi to your hotel.
From Mérida or Valladolid, by transfer:
The easiest option: we go to pick you up wherever you are, we take you to the ferry and we will be waiting on Holbox island to take you to your hotel. Door to door service .
