The tour

We will start our adventure at the Whale Shark Pier, where your captain and guide will be waiting for you to explore the 3 most interesting and popular visiting points of Holbox.

In order to ensure an unforgettable experience, the trip journey will depend on the day’s weather, logistics, schedule and expected concentration of birds. Your captain will set the best course for that day.

The travel time between each point is10 to 20 minutes.

Isla Pájaros is a protected sanctuary making it a truly amazing sighting area. We enjoy visiting this beautiful islet taking care at all times to ensure we protect the ecosystem.

We will travel by boat and on arrival head to a lookout platform, where you can admire the island’s diversity of birds such as the frigate, the white ibis, the snowy egrets, the double-crested cormorants, the reddish egrets, the roséate spoonbills, the white pelicans, the grey pelicans, the occasional stork, and, in season, flamingos.

Next is Passion Island, here you will enjoy true tranquillity as you walk the beautiful virgin white sand beaches with glittering crystal-clear waters and tiny shoreline fish. This small island is full of dense shrubs and has a great lookout to see the entire area from.

The last stop is the protected area of Yalahau, where you can enjoy a rejuvenating dip in a freshwater eye lagoon. Cool water gushes up from beneath the ground making for a wonderfully refreshing end to the trip.
Swimming with a life vest is mandatory.

Real experiences

Enjoy the calm waters as you take photographs and create incredible memories, all in one magnificent tour.

Isla Pájaros

Throughout the year and depending on the season, this island is home to over 35 different species of birds, a unique and unforgettable spectacle.

Isla Pasión

Pink flamingos and many more birds in their natural habitat, a spectacle of a thousand colors on water.

Yalahau

Swim and cool off in a cenote! An eye of water where you can take a dip and where, legend has it, royal pirates and ancient fishermen collected fresh water

Punta Mosquito

At times the local bird population congregates at Punta Mosquito, if so your guide will change the trip route here instead of bird island.

Tips

We recommend carrying insect repellent or long sleeves shirts as the islands visited do have mosquitoes.

Pay attention as you travel between the different stops. We often come across dolphins, turtles and manta rays.

If you are a birdwatcher, on this tour you will see many different species, depending on the season visiting.

Questions and Answers

Is the entrance to the water eye included?
Yes, all fees are included in the ticket price.
How close will we be to flamingos and birds?
Flamingos are migratory birds and we will not always be able to find them. The flamingo season is April to October. It is important that when watching flamingos or any birds, we maintain a prudent distance so as not to disturb them. Remember we are in a protected natural area. We look to maintain a distance of 50 meters.
Are there mosquitoes?
There can be. We recommend you bring repellent.
Am I going to get seasick?
This tour does not go out to open sea and while sea conditions are unpredictable, this is a moderate boat trip and unlikely to cause symptoms.
If I don’t want to swim?
You can enjoy the tour without swimming. In Yalahau you can take in the fresh air and beautiful natural surrounding of the cenote.
